WINTER RULES

Winter Rules will apply from 3rd December 2018 to 31st March 2019 (unless withdrawn by the Head Greenkeeper)

Winter Rules

On the Fairway

Play from the fairways is not permitted, the ONLY exception is when using a putter. Balls on the fairway MUST be lifted, cleaning is permitted, and placed at least 2 club lengths into the semi-rough at either side. Choice of side is at the player's discretion but must not be nearer the hole. Please replace all divots in the semi-rough.

On the Green

Please do not attend the flagstick. The flagstick may be left in the hole when putting, without penalty if struck.

Bunkers

When a ball lands in a bunker, the player has the option of playing the ball as it lies or lifting the ball, raking the area and replacing the ball, no nearer the hole, without penalty.

Plugged Ball

Any plugged ball lying through the green (i.e. anywhere on the course except in a hazard) may be lifted, cleaned and dropped as near as possible to the spot where it lay, but not nearer the hole.

Blue Posts

Any ball lying within the area marked by the blue posts on the 2nd, 4th, 9th, 10th, 15th and 18th holes may be marked, lifted, cleaned and re-placed within 150mm of its original position, but not nearer the hole.

Trolleys

These may be banned from the course at the Head Greenkeeper's discretion. Check the Home Page on the web-site or the notices outside the Professional's Shop or at the 1st tee for the current status.

Please ensure when using trolleys that you obey all signs, white lines and fenced off areas put in place by the Greens Staff to avoid damage to the course. Players are requested to avoid taking trolleys between greenside bunkers and the greens to minimise wear on these usually closely mown areas.

Players are requested if they are able to carry a golf bag then please do so, you might be surprised how much easier it is to get round with a half set and carrying.

Buggies

These may be banned from the course at the Head Greenkeeper's discretion. Check the Home Page on the web-site or the notices outside the Professional's Shop or at the 1st tee for the current status.

Buggies must keep to all available paths and roads.

Buggies are not allowed in the dip in front of the 4th green, nor on the bank in front of the 10th green, nor on the bank on the 18th hole. These holes should be “walk in” holes for those using buggies.

Drivers must obey all signs, white lines and fenced off areas put in place by the Greens Staff to avoid damage to the course.

Drivers and passengers are reminded to follow the code of conduct placed on the windscreen of all buggies.

Please help maintain the golf course in as good a condition as possible by replacing divots, repairing pitchmarks and raking bunkers. Please leave areas of play in the condition you would hope to find them.
